Château Paveil de Luze 2015
The Château Paveil de Luze is a historic property of the Margaux appellation, on the left bank of Bordeaux. Founded in the 18th century and still in the hands of the de Luze family, the estate extends over a terroir of deep Garonne gravel, typical of the great wines of Médoc. This draining soil promotes deep rooting and gives the wines finesse, structure, and aging potential. Classified Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, Paveil de Luze has established itself as a reliable value of Margaux, sought after for the elegance of its style and the consistency of its vintages. The vineyard is managed with precision to preserve the balance between fruit ripeness and natural freshness.
The 2015 vintage, considered one of the most successful of the decade in Bordeaux, benefited from ideal climatic conditions favoring homogeneous ripeness and silky tannins. The blend is mainly based on Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, bringing structure, roundness, and aromatic finesse respectively. Careful vinification and barrel aging refine the tannic framework and develop complexity and depth. This 2015 perfectly expresses the refined classicism of Margaux, between intensity and delicacy.
On tasting, the wine shows a deep robe with garnet reflections. The nose reveals aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and violet, accompanied by notes of cedar, soft spices, and a slight melted woodiness. The palate is elegant and structured, supported by fine and ripe tannins. The balance between freshness and concentration offers a beautiful length and a harmonious finish. Already expressive today, this Margaux still has good aging potential, capable of evolving gracefully over several years. It will ideally accompany roasted meats, lamb, or classic gastronomic cuisine.
