Chateau Lilian Ladouys 2014
Château Lilian Ladouys is located in Saint-Estèphe , in the Médoc region of the Bordeaux wine region. The property was classified as a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in 1932, and again in 2003 before the classification was revoked in 2007. In its current structure, it is classified as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel . The estate was abandoned until Christian and Lilian Thiébolt bought it in the 1980s, renovated the winemaking facilities, replanted the plots and gave the estate its current name. The estate is now owned by Jacky and François Lorenzetti , who also own Château Pédesclaux, Château d'Issan and Lafon-Rochet. The vineyard covers approximately 80 hectares (200 acres) on the Cos Plateau. It is currently in the process of converting to certified organic status.
Château Lilian Ladouys is a blend of Merlot (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (45%), Petit Verdot (4%) and Cabernet Franc (1%) . The harvest is put into cold pre-fermentation maceration, followed by a long maceration with pumping over. The wine is aged for 15 months in barrels, 40% of which are new.
