Woodford Reserve - Derby 146 - 45.2%
Woodford Reserve is a brand of premium small batch Kentucky straight Bourbon whiskey produced by the Brown-Forman Corporation. The Woodford Reserve Distillery, formerly known as the Old Oscar Pepper Distillery and later the Labrot & Graham Distillery, is near the town of Versailles in north-central Kentucky. It is made from a mixture of copper pot still spirits produced at the company's Woodford Reserve Distillery, and column still spirits from the Brown Forman Distillery in Shively. The master distillers of Woodford Reserve are Chris Morris and Elizabeth McCall. Chris began his career in Bourbon in 1976, while Elizabeth joined Woodford Reserve in 2018 to develop new expressions in the spirit of innovation.
Woodford Reserve, the Kentucky Derby's main sponsor, pays homage to "sport's two greatest minutes" with the release of its 2021 Derby commemorative bottle. It features the artwork of Richard Sullivan, Louisville resident and former player professional baseball. Sullivan's watercolor depicts thoroughbreds soaring towards the straight line and was designed to complement last year's Derby bottle artwork, also created by Sullivan.
