Extremely old and rare bottle dating from the 1940s. This historic bottle has been carefully preserved in a traditional Bordeaux cellar, thus guaranteeing exceptional quality and authenticity. D.O.M Bénédictine is one of the most emblematic French liqueurs, made from a secret and ancient recipe invented by Benedictine monks. Produced in Fécamp, Normandy, this amber-yellow herbal liqueur is renowned for its medicinal virtues and unique taste. In 1863, a merchant from Fécamp rediscovered this forgotten recipe and named it in honor of the Benedictine monks, with their prestigious motto: Deo Optimo Maximo – "God, most good, most great".
A sumptuous palace was even built to house the distillery where the liqueur is still produced according to tradition. The recipe includes four basic preparations using 27 different plants, carefully infused in alcohol, then precisely distilled. This unique blend, called "spirit," is then aged in oak barrels and naturally colored with saffron. Among the dominant flavors are lemon balm, juniper, and angelica, which give this liqueur its inimitable and refined character.
