Château LEOVILLE POYFERRÉ 2012
THE Léoville Poyferré Castle is located at Saint-Julien has Bordeaux . It is classified Second Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification and was part of the conglomerate of the three Léovilles (Las Cases, Barton, Poyferré). Léoville Poyferré was bought by the Cuvelier family in 1920. The Château's vineyard covers 80 hectares, planted exclusively with classic Bordeaux red grape varieties. Within this, in the northwest of the appellation, are the 20 hectares of Château Moulin Riche, which also belongs to the Cuvelier family. Château Léoville Poyferré has obtained the certification High Environmental Value level 3 (the highest level) since the 2017 vintage for its entire vineyard.
THE Château Léoville Poyferré 2012 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (62%), Merlot (32%) and Petit Verdot (6% ) . The grapes are cold macerated for optimal extraction and aromatic purity, then fermented in stainless steel vats before aging. The wine is aged in 18 to 20 month oak barrels , with a proportion of new oak.
