Edradour is een iconische whisky-distilleerderij in de Schotse Hooglanden, gelegen in het charmante dorpje Moulin, nabij Pitlochry. Het wordt beschouwd als de kleinste traditionele Schotse whisky-distilleerderij en is ook de laatste kleine landbouwproducent uit het Victoriaanse tijdperk die nog actief is. Deze unieke distilleerderij staat bekend om niet alleen de uitzonderlijke kwaliteit van zijn whisky's, maar ook om zijn verrassende historische band met de New Yorkse maffia. Opgericht in 1825 onder de naam Glenforres Distillery door een coöperatie van lokale boeren, heeft Edradour zijn authenticiteit door de eeuwen heen behouden. In 1938 werd Irving Haim, agent van de beroemde maffiabaas Frank Costello, de hoofdaandeelhouder. Na de dood van Haim in 1976 werd de distilleerderij verkocht aan een Amerikaans-Australisch consortium en in 1982 geïntegreerd in een dochteronderneming van de Pernod Ricard-groep. Sinds 2002 behoort het tot Signatory Vintage Ltd. Edradour behoudt veel traditionele technieken met oude en zeldzame apparatuur: bijvoorbeeld wordt de wort uit de maischketel gekoeld met behulp van de laatste Morton commerciële koelkast die alleen met koud water wordt gekoeld, en geen enkel productieproces wordt door computer aangestuurd.

Deze limited edition van Edradour werd precies gedistilleerd op 18 april 2008 en heeft 14 jaar gerijpt in een enkele vat (Single Cask #91). Deze uitzonderlijke whisky heeft geprofiteerd van een zeldzame finish in een vat dat eerder Grand Arôme Savanna rum bevatte, wat delicate kruidige en exotische tonen toevoegt. Er werden slechts 490 flessen geproduceerd, waardoor deze uitdrukking een waar zeldzaam juweel is, gezocht door liefhebbers en verzamelaars van premium whisky.
