Alain Brumont - Torus 2023
Alain Brumont is a key figure in the Southwest vineyard, renowned for having restored the Madiran appellation to its former glory. In the 1980s, he broke with the region's traditional practices to impose an ambitious vision of Tannat , a native grape variety long considered rustic and difficult. Today, Alain Brumont is at the head of nearly 300 hectares of vines and his wines are renowned worldwide for their character, longevity and precision. He owns two properties: Château Montus and Château Bouscassé .
Torus is a blend of Tannat , Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc . The grapes are put into cold pre-fermentation maceration, followed by a vatting period of approximately 20 days. The wine is aged for 12 months on fine lees in vats to preserve freshness and fruit.
