NATACHA CHAVE - Domaine Aleofane - Crozes Hermitage red 2022

Domaine Aléofane is located in Mercurol, in the Rhône Valley. The domain belongs to Natacha Chave , a graduate in philosophy of language and specialist in animal metaphors for Nietzsche. Her parents made wine in Crozes-Hermitage, her brother took over the family estate and she chose to gain independence by purchasing her first plots in the Saint Joseph appellation area in 2004, and in Crozes-Hermitage in 2007. It does not use herbicides, insecticides or inputs during winemaking and the vineyard is certified in biodynamic agriculture .

Crozes-Hermitage is made from Syrah and mass selections from Serine . Vatting lasts 4 weeks with daily pumping over. Depending on the plots, punching down or load shedding are carried out to promote extraction. The wines are poured into demi-muids , and into ovoid vats for the Serines from the place called Les Chasselières.
