Château RAYMOND LAFON 2016
Château Raymond-Lafon is located in Sauternes , in the Bordeaux wine region. It was founded in 1850 and today covers 18 hectares, of which 16 hectares are in production. In 1972, Francine and Pierre Meslier became owners of the castle. An agronomic engineer from Montpellier, Pierre Meslier was able to apply his extensive experience of Sauternes wines to the cultivation of his vineyard, to the vinification and aging of the wines of Château Raymond-Lafon. Francine Meslier managed the property on a daily basis. Since 1990 it is their children, Marie-Françoise, Charles-Henri and Jean-Pierre and Pierre Meslier who have continued the work of their parents.
The wine is a blend of Sémillon (80%) and Sauvignon Blanc (20%) . The botrytized grapes are harvested grain by grain, by successive sorting of 3 to 10 passes. The wine is aged for 3 years in stave oak barrels .
