DELORD - Bas Armagnac 1995
The story of Armagnac Delord began in 1893. Prosper, a traveling distiller and cellar master, took his still from farm to farm to transform white wine into Armagnac. It was the sons of Prosper, Gaston and Georges, who created the Maison d'Armagnac Delord Frères in Lannepax in 1932. Producers, distillers and merchants, they gradually sold their Bas-Armagnacs from Gascony in the United States. In 2001, Sylvain and Jérôme, Jacques' two sons, formed the establishment's new siblings: they tasted, selected and combined the eaux-de-vie. Finally, since 2020, the family estate is also made up of 75 organic hectares (including 5 hectares of vines), a mansion, an aging cellar and outbuildings.
This 1995 Armagnac, presented in a very pretty wooden box, is an excellent gift idea. It is made up of the four traditional Armagnac grape varieties: Ugni-Blanc 56%, Colombard 24%, Baco 14% and Folle-Blanche 6%.
