Domaine Bellegarde - Pierre Blanche - Magnum 2023
Domaine Bellegarde is located in Monein, in the Jurançon appellation in southwest France. The estate was founded in 1920 by Gratien Labasse and passed down from generation to generation. Since 1985, his grandson Pascal Labasse has managed the 12-hectare estate , which is undergoing conversion to organic farming . In the vineyard, the southern heat and southerly wind allow for raisining, an over-ripening technique for making sweet wines. The estate produces eight vintages, half dry and half sweet.
The dry Pierre Blanche wine is made from a blend of the first selections of Petit Manseng (60%) and Gros Manseng (40%) . The grapes are harvested manually from mid to late October. Fermentation and aging for one year are carried out in demi-muids with indigenous yeasts.
Grape varieties: 60% Petit Manseng, 40% Gros Manseng
