Maison Camille Thiriet - Burgundy Chardonnay - Cuvée Confidentielle 2023

Maison Thiriet is located across the street from Château de Comblanchien in Côte-d'Or, in the heart of Burgundy 's Côte-de-Nuits region . After years of experience in both production and sales, Canadian-born cellar master Matt Chittick and adopted Burgundian Camille Thiriet took a cautious and ambitious approach to realizing a long-term dream of producing Burgundy wines under their own label. They met while working for Domaine de Bellene. 2016 was Maison Thiriet's first vintage, produced in a small 20m² garage and producing only four barrels of Bourgogne Blanc and three barrels of Côte de Nuits Villages. Everything is done in the traditional way, including bucket pumping over, foot-treading, and a ratchet press. No additives or indigenous yeasts are added. The bottles are labeled and waxed by hand.

The Bourgogne Chardonnay Cuvée Confidentielle is a limited edition of 3,440 bottles. Alcoholic fermentation begins spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in barrels. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in the same container. Aging lasts 12 months, with 20% new barrels.
