Camille Thiriet House - Burgundy Aligoté - Garden Aligoté 2023
Maison Thiriet is located across the street from Château de Comblanchien in Côte-d'Or, in the heart of Burgundy 's Côte-de-Nuits region . After years of experience in both production and sales, Canadian-born cellar master Matt Chittick and adopted Burgundian Camille Thiriet took a cautious and ambitious approach to realizing a long-term dream of producing Burgundy wines under their own label. They met while working for Domaine de Bellene. 2016 was Maison Thiriet's first vintage, produced in a small 20m² garage and producing only four barrels of Bourgogne Blanc and three barrels of Côte de Nuits Villages. Everything is done in the traditional way, including bucket pumping over, foot-treading, and a ratchet press. No additives or indigenous yeasts are added. The bottles are labeled and waxed by hand.
The Bourgogne Aligoté du Jardin is a limited edition of 4,115 bottles. It is a blend of grapes from a plot in Pommard and a plot in the village of Corgoloin. After a 3-day skin maceration, the wine is aged for 12 months in barrels.
Grape variety: 100% Aligoté
