Macán is the shared vision that two big names in the wine world, Rothschild and Vega Sicilia , have of La Rioja. It is made from the Tempranillo variety. After alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels and vats. Aging takes place in extra-fine and fine-grained French wooden barrels, the majority in new barrels and the rest in single-wine barrels. It remains in wood for 15 months then in bottles until it is marketed.
