Las Ninas - Ella - Reserva Carmenere 2021
Viña Las Niñas is located in Apalta, in the Valle de Colchagua in Chile . In 1996, Bernard Dauré convinced his friends, Jean Pierre Cayard and Claude Florensa to embark on the idea of creating a wine estate with him in Apalta, Chile. The daughters of the three families, "Las Niñas", took over a job that lasted around three years, planting 160 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, Caménère, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache Noir, Merlot and Chardonnay, while Mathias Klotz (a famous Chilean architect) designed and built the winery. Today, the Las Niñas vineyard is firmly rooted in Apalta and 36 hectares of vines are cultivated. The vineyard is conducted in certified organic agriculture .
Ella Reserva Carménère is produced from vines cultivated on a soil of clay and river stones. The grapes are harvested by hand in the morning and immediately processed in the cellar. Vinification is meticulous with temperature control and tannin extraction. A post-fermentation maceration is carried out to obtain a complete structure. The wine is aged for 8 months in French oak barrels .
