Savoia Americano Rosso Amaro Dolce is a bittersweet aperitif from spirits entrepreneur Giuseppe Gallo made in Italy . It follows the traditional style of vino aperitivo from Turin in Piedmont which combines fresh and dry aromatic herbs such as Artemisia and gentian root for a distinguished "Amaro Dolce" taste. It is the mixture of gentian root and bitter orange peel that is at the heart of the "Americano" style. The recipe is inspired by the authentic "Bitter di Milano" recipe from around 1897, adding around twenty botanicals (including orange, cinnamon, rhubarb, cassia and cascarilla) to a Semi-dry Marsala made from Trebbiano and aged in oak barrels for 14 months.
