Château Tertre Roteboeuf 1993

Château Tertre-Rôteboeuf ligt in Saint-Émilion, in Bordeaux. Het is geclassificeerd als Grand Cru Classé van Saint-Émilion. Het domein behoort toe aan François en Emilie Mitjavile, die ook eigenaar zijn van Château Roc de Cambes (Côtes de Bourg) en L'Aurage (Côtes de Castillon). Het kasteel stond bekend als Le Tertre tot 1975, toen de familie Mitjavile besloot Rôteboeuf toe te voegen aan de naam van het eigendom om het onderscheidender te maken. De wijngaard beslaat iets minder dan 6 hectare op een steile helling. Het terroir is iets frisser dan de meeste eigendommen in Saint-Émilion, wat betekent dat Tertre-Rôteboeuf over het algemeen een van de laatsten in de regio is om de oogst te voltooien, maar dit draagt ook bij aan de rijke stijl van de wijn. De opbrengsten worden zeer laag gehouden om een geconcentreerde wijn te garanderen en de druiven worden met de hand geoogst.

De Château Tertre-Rôteboeuf is een blend van Merlot (80%) en Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). Hij wordt gefermenteerd in betonnen tanks bij gecontroleerde temperatuur en gerijpt in nieuwe eikenhouten vaten gedurende 24 maanden.

Druivensoorten: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
