Pio Cesare - Nebbiolo Langhe 2020

Domaine Pio Cesare ligt in Piemonte, Italië. Het werd opgericht in 1881 door Cesare Pio en is een van de oudste in de regio en een van de eerste die zijn wijnen uit Barolo en Barbaresco exporteerde. Het domein wordt nog steeds beheerd door de nakomelingen van Cesare Pio, de familie Boffa. De kelder bevindt zich in het centrum van de stad Alba en is gebouwd op de oude Romeinse stadsmuren. De wijngaard beslaat 70 hectare: 31,78 hectare in Barolo, 26,90 hectare in Barbaresco en 10,35 hectare tussen deze twee regio's.

De Langhe Nebbiolo wordt gemaakt van Nebbiolo afkomstig uit wijngaarden in La Morra en Serralunga in de Barolo-regio, in San Rocco Seno D'Elvio in de Barbaresco-regio en in Diano d'Alba. De vinificatie vindt plaats in roestvrijstalen tanks en de maceratie duurt ongeveer 20 dagen. De wijn rijpt 24 maanden in grote Franse eikenhouten vaten genaamd "botti", en een klein deel in barriques.

Druivensoort: 100% Nebbiolo
