• De Distilleerderij Bologne bevindt zich in Guadeloupe. Ze is actief sinds 1887 en dankt haar naam aan de vroegere eigenaars van de suikerfabriek die gevestigd was op de vruchtbare hellingen van La Soufrière. De Bologne-familie, protestants, migreerde tijdens de godsdienstoorlogen naar Nederland en vestigde zich vanaf 1580 in Brazilië (dat toen een Nederlandse kolonie was) om daar suikerriet te verbouwen. De Bologne arriveerden in 1654 in Guadeloupe nadat ze uit Brazilië en vervolgens uit Martinique waren verdreven. De suikerplantage Bologne kende door de eeuwen heen ups en downs, zoals alle suikerfabrieken uit die tijd, gerelateerd aan de geschiedenis en de Franse Revolutie. Onder impuls van Louis Sargenton-Callarden in 1930 specialiseerde de plantage zich in de productie van Rhum Agricole.
